Karen S. Brennick ist zum zweiten Mal schwanger, die erste Schwangerschaft endete mit einer Totgeburt. Die Gesetze erlauben jedoch ungeachtet der Umst\u00e4nde jeder Frau nur ein Kind. Das Gef\u00e4ngnis wird von dem Unternehmen MenTel Corporation betrieben, welches das Recht hat, den K\u00f6rper des Kindes nach dessen Geburt zur Produktion der Cyborgs zu verwenden. Die Anstalt wird von Poe geleitet, der die H\u00e4ftlinge drangsaliert.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Poe findet Karen attraktiv. W\u00e4hrenddessen lernt John den Computerfreak D-Day kennen, der aus den K\u00f6rpern der H\u00e4ftlinge implantierte Mikrochips entfernt, die die Menschen \u00fcberwachen und bei Bedarf ferngesteuert gesprengt werden k\u00f6nnen. Die Eheleute und Gomez fliehen nach Mexiko, wo Karen ihr Kind bekommt.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Gomez kommt allerdings kurz vor der Geburt des Kindes ums Leben, als sich Zed in den Fluchtwagen, einen gepanzerten Lkw, einhackt und die Kontrolle \u00fcber das Fahrzeug \u00fcbernimmt. Der Film wurde von Geoff Murphy inszeniert.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Die deutsche FSK-18 Leih-VHS und DVD-Ver\u00f6ffentlichung ist, im Gegensatz zur ungeschnittenen Originalversion, stark geschnitten. Es wurden ca. 3,5 Minuten entfernt. F\u00fcr den VHS-Verkaufsmarkt wurde eine weitere, noch st\u00e4rker geschnittene Fassung angefertigt. Diese ist ab 16 Jahren freigegeben und es fehlen insgesamt ca. 12 Minuten. Der Film degeneriere zum \u201ezum Teil explosiven, zum Teil sentimentalen Starvehikel\u201c.
